  We researched several companies to lead our group of four on a one week tour of Iceland and from the first email, Thomas of EV Travel rose to the top.... read more In the planning stage, he was extremely responsive and he crafted for us what we'd come to discover was the perfect itinerary. We were simply blown away! Iceland is a magical place, with the most pristine and spectacular natural environment, and it was a privilege to experience it through the eyes of someone with a deep knowledge of and a profound passion for the country. In addition to showing us all the 'greatest hits,' Thomas led us through rivers, caves, valleys, waterfalls and glaciers to behold breathtaking secret places that you'd never find on your own. We were left with a heightened respect for Mother Nature and were happy to be touring in (immaculate!) electric vehicles and we love that Thomas will plant a tree in Iceland for each tour that we took. Though the conditions were not present for us to view the aurora borealis during our week, we realized that you don't need to see the Northern Lights to find yourself on Cloud 9!

Our driver spoke perfect English, was kind and prepared and told us many interesting pieces of information both about the country and its nature. The van was spacious and comfortable, plus there were fresh water and snacks for us to enjoy, as well as blankets to keep us warm in case it got chilly in the back of the van. When we come back to Iceland, we will definitely contact EV Travel to plan some more day trips and discover more of this wonderful country.

Tom took his time at each stop for us to get food, pictures, restroom or whatever was needed. Recommend doing this rather than driving yourself. The coach was relaxing and comfortable. Tom even navigated the coach through a snowstorm that would have probably caused us to turn around and miss out on all the beautiful scenery of south coast. The glacier hike was amazing and we learned so much about the experience and nature. Will definitely be back in the summer to do this again with Tom.

On the other hand, if you want a once in a lifetime experience with a charismatic, knowledgeable, adventurous guide who is flexible and always on time, Thomas is for you! My wife and I and two friends traveled to Iceland for 3 days and spent them with Thomas. On Day 1 he promptly retrieved us from the airport, coordinated an afternoon at the Sky thermal spa, and topped off the evening with a champagne toast while viewing the Northern Lights (he encouraged us powering through the first night as it was our greatest opportunity to see them - they did not disappoint). Day 2 was a full day being driven around the Golden Circle during which we viewed jaw dropping water falls, ate at an indescribable sustainable tomato farm, and learned about the history and geology of amazing Iceland. On our final day with surprised Thomas with a last minute request to alter the day’s schedule - the result was what can only be described as a bucket list day. Four good friends on a glacier with a profoundly capable guide - 10 out of 10 day all thanks to Thomas.
